An exciting day in Santiago (or somewhere near there) both USA teams took home the Bronze
medals in two very different fashions. The 35'ers went up 1 nil early and followed with a second
half goal to close out Chile 2 - 0 for the win, while in the other game, it took additional time and
penalties to beat GB for the third successive time spanning 2 tournaments.

Brett Epstein struck from 27 yards out on a square ball from Elliot Koolik to take the lead only

Overtime and penalties completed with the USA on top and in a repeat of the Maccabiah 2013,
USA beat GB who will not be happy that they were beaten by "Americans.....AGAIN!

Bronze Medal Match
USA will play Great Britain in a Bronze Medal re match of Maccabiah 2013. Many of the same
players represent their teams in the Pan Am games and GB will look to avenge that bitter
loss (2-1). Goals by J. Greenberg and M. Wisnevitz gave the US the win and represent USA in
Chile hoping to recreate their magic as will many others who represent both teams.

In the final group match of the Pan Am games, the USA was defeated by Argentina 2-1 in a
contest that the US.only needed.a draw to qualify for the gold medal match tomorrow.
Reports are still coming in so details will follow.
US will play for bronze against an as yet undetermined opponent.

USA 1, Chile 1
Chile sees red as USA dominate against the home team. Hochberger opens his scoring account
with a header from a Wisnevitz cross directly after halftime which Chile led 1-0 on an early goal.
Whiteson saves late chance to preserve the tie and set up a gold medal chance in the last group
game against Argentina.

USA Grand Masters Soccer team draw with Brazil 0-0. Philip "Fish" Fishel saves a penalty as
USA tops the group going into a rest day as the games continue on.
Epstein awarded Captaincy against Brazil.

Dateline Santiago
Early this morning, USA came back from a 0-1 halftime deficit to score 2 goals (Grusd, Biran)
to beat Great Britain in the opening game of the Pan Am 2015 Maccabi Games.
